<VV> Oil Filters that fit the corvair

Bob,

I cut a piece out of an oil filter adapter large enough to see the edge of
where the inner gasket seats. On a PF4 and NAPA1038, there was no problem
with the inner gasket seating. On any brand that I used with the U shaped
outer gasket, I could easily slide a business card between the gasket and
the seating area of the adapter. Purolator was ONE of several brands that
were tried. I brought the device to a CCE meeting and asked folks to bring
their favorite filter for a "fitting". There were surprised looks on many
faces of those who brought brands with the U shaped gasket.

So, for me and those who were present that night, it really IS true. A
portion of the oil entering the filter will not be actually passing through
the filter material.
