<VV> 65 diff knock down,at a price,or dancing with the diffle

..attempting to gut a 3:55 diff for parts,I managed to get the right side adjuster and pinion out intact,without too much effort...the left adjuster,and the ring+carrier,finally came out;I'd been soaking it for several days (it's in the basement),made a tool that I could bolt thru,holding it on,while dancing with it,no luck;needing to hold it down,I braced it,snout-end down,against the floor joist above w/2x3 and pieces to shim up top,figuring I'll either break the 3/4-drive ratchet and 15/16'' socket,bend the 3' cheater pipe, or see daylight between the wall and foundation...after 20 minutes it POPPED,nothing appeared broken,but forgot to check the chunks of 2x4 up top..well,it's apart,and I will just have to wait to shave the side of my face for a while..<ggg>...HOO-UAHH !!
