<snip>Lost the dash lights on my 66 last night...don't see any lose
wires...fuses ok...dash blinkers and bright lights indicator work
fine...radio works...fan works...courtesy interior lights ok when doors
op or turn light switch...all exterior lites ok...

Troubleshooting suggestions? Thx.Rod<unsnip>

Rod, turn the light knob until it clicks (dome light) then back it off the
click; that should be max dash light. Use a test light at the dash lamp
fuse. You should see +12 on both sides of the fuse. (put the probe on the
fuse box blade, not the fuse body) If you find no juice at all, the
headlight switch is bad. If you find +12 on one side of that fuse, but not
the other, the fuse or fuse contacts are bad. If there's juice on both
sides of the fuse, it's likely that the dash ground went belly up. That's a
metal strip that's grounded just the left of the column. Are all the screws
on the lower left dash bottom there and tight?
Good hunting,
Craig Nicol
