we have a shop in the syracuse area that does anoplating but i never tried  
it.
i like what i see in silver powder coating.  would that do? it sure  looks 
like a close match.
slow wipers may be fixed by a little light oil on the bearings then get it  
running and tap on the sides with a small hammer to "align" the armature shafts 
 with the bearings.  that was standard to do when repairing them at the  
factory repair center i worked at years ago.  mine work too good ,   showing any 
slop in the linkage, which i hope to rebuild soon.  just try  tapping on the 
sides of the motor (not beating up on it!) to see if the speed  picks up.
