    I will stand behind Steve 100%. He has rebuilt all our carburators 
for us for over 16 years and I talk to him usually 2-3 times a week. As 
to my friend Ron's discouraging words it should be mentioned that he 
cannot work on UltraVans because they don't fit in his shop and the City 
will not allow him to do work outside of the shop. Nothing more 
complicated than that.
    The second person that is certainly at the top would be Larry 
Claypool for obvious reasons. No, he is NOT the brother of Les Claypool, 
even though that's how this whole thread got started. Let me say this 
about Larry - other than being a great guy  to have as a friend, he is 
also one of the few people I ever call when I'm stumped.
We don't agree on everything (like electric fuel pumps and Viton crank 
seals) but nearly everything else!  Recently he has a lower profile in 
Corsa than he used to but suffice it to say that Larry is and has always 
been the technical brains of the Corvair hobby - period.      Lon
