I think the bulbs are 1895s, with a miniature bayonet base.
 
Unlike colored incandescent bulbs, LEDs are rather monochromatic. If you  
filter them, they will only appear less bright, filters will not change the  
apparent color much at all. My guess is red would reflect fairly well off of  that 
pale green paint, which is more white than green.

but  then I am a non stock kinda guy....and it's for Sheila's car and she 
thinks  red lights are easier to see at night.....and less eyestrain.
