<VV> engine repair question (no corvair)

Being a manual, the transmission has to be moved back from the engine to 
clear the input shaft, so it might as well be removed completely. And 
since a new clutch is a good idea as long as you are in there, the 
bellhousing also comes off. This leaves the engine all by itself. And 
the fan will not hit the shroud, as all that stuff on the front is 
removed to remove the timing chain....

SO, is there enough room to jack the engine alone into air to remove the 
oil pan?

I have done this in place crankectomy on a 72 Chevelle small block and a 
78 Buick Century 231 V-6. I would pull the engine on any future projects 
like this... Too old and stiff to work under the car like I used to.
