I would send him one.  Most Corvair people have some laying around from engines parted out.  Better to keep him happy than to have him complain that some Corvair guy ripped him off even though the pic didn't show a bell housing.  Ken

Another way to look at it is the bell housing is also the timing gear cover.
Would you take that off the engine and still call it complete?  Also, the
bell housing doesn't stay in the car when the engine is removed.  I'd say
it's part of the engine, not an accessory.

Starter and flywheel I guess could be debated.  If I wanted to know if they
were included in the deal I would ask on these.  Ok.  The guy could have
maybe figured out the bell housing from the picture, but maybe he wasn't
that familiar with vair engines and didn't realize how all the pieces fit.

Vair engines are a little different.  If I bought a small block Chevy, I
would expect a complete cooling system was include.  On the vair, I would.
