Watch the pushrods spin sometime, they actually turn pretty quickly. 
Especially noticeable in a V8 where 
they can be seen better.   I have read other places that the rings will 
tend to rotate at ~ 1RPM.    I also seem to remember seeing a x-ray series 
showing the rings rotating.
