Tony,

Those are pretty mirrors, but if it was me, I sure would hate to drill holes
after someone went to all the trouble to shave everything. Rick Norris has
no outside mirrors on his V8 car and gets by with one of the multi angle
interior mirrors.

Having said that, I have twin stock outside mirrors on my '66 Monza, but
I have door handles too. As I recall from installing the right side mirror,
there is a reinforcement plate below the sheet metal on both doors. The
front edge of the stock mirror is about three and a half inches from the
front on the door and about an inch down from the almost right angle bend at
the top of the door.

If it was me, I'd keep the shaved look, but then I tend to err toward the
hot rod/custom side :o).
