<VV> Power Top control on the "Cheap/ Easy" - LM

Well really the factory wiring, even though wierd, is "cheap and easy". The
factory relay is really just a sigle pole single throw (simplest) with two
extra terminals tacked on in parallel with the coil wires (could easily be
duplicated off the relay).

What it does take is a special DC motor with a forward field coil and a
reverse. Is lack of these motors becoming a problem ?

For most motors (like for a power seat) there are two wires and you reverse
the polarity but each wire must take the full 30A load. This is where you
would need two double pole relays and would have to switch ground as well
as power. The factory setup is really simpler and undoubtedly saved a few
pennies though does seem odd when first encountered.
