It's only a month away folks! If any of you are planning to go on tours,
this is the last week
for sending in your registration. Tours cannot be done "on site" as we have
to reserve (and pay)
for busses ahead of time. The busses are getting hard to find already. The
only tour with some leeway is the dinner cruise as we had to rent an entire
deck on the ship. The deck holds 300 people and we have all 300 tickets in
advance.
Don't forget to bring your valve cover racers and model cars to the
convention.
We have a big parking lot at the host hotel but trucks and trailers take up
lots of room.
We are asking those of you who are staying at "other" hotels to leave your
truck and trailer there, if possible, and drive your Corvair to the host
hotel. If your Corvair is a race car and is not street legal then you can
park your trailer at the host hotel and drive your tow vehicle back to your
hotel. Many hotels have no room at all for trailers so we are pretty lucky
to have a big lot. The only need to unload your trailered car at the hotel
is for Concours classification and stock Corvair evaluation on Tuesday.
There is adequate trailer parking at the GM Tech Center on Concours day, and
at the Autocross site. Any car racing the NECC event at Waterford will not
need to go thru tech inspection at the autocross. We figure if it is safe
enough to go 100MPH at Waterford it will be OK at 50MPH at the Autocross.
