Wow, tough luck.  My vote is boat anchor.  Donor engines are cheap enough 
and available.  Too bad.

Where are you?  Local club access?  Surely someone near you has one in 
storage.  Keep yours though - you'll need to transfer a lot of parts.  
Someone might just give you (or sale cheaply) a good case and you can 
transfer 98% of the parts.  You can transfer all the parts, from 
crank/cam/bearings/rods, etc.  Keep everything in sync, same bearings in the 
same location on the crank and rods for instance.  I go so far to keep my 
rocker arms and push rods in the same location every time.  I make wooden 
holders with dowels and holes for holding all the stuff in order.
