<VV> '67 Telecolumn Corvair- Corvette

I've heard several folks state that certain pieces are taken out of a  
Corvair tele-column for use in a Corvette column.  Is this factual?   Does anyone 
know which parts are involved?  Does this pertain to all years  of 
Corvair/Corvette tele columns?  The reason I ask is that I have a '65  Corvair with 
original tele column and a '65 Corvette with an original tele  column.  As far as I 
can tell, they are pretty much identical.  From  what I've heard re 65-6 
columns, they are identical except that the Corvette  version requires an easily 
fabricated and added bracket.  I've heard over  the years that guys have taken 
complete Corvair columns and modified them for  Corvette use, but until 
recently, I've never heard of Corvair columns being  dismantled for "parts".  Anyone 
have any real data on this?
