Folks, and especially our Canadian Brethren:

As you know, many GM cars made in Canada were named differently than their US counterparts. In some cases there were gentle nuances that made them different than their US Cousins.

At Steele Rubber, when a Canadian customer calls, in many cases the customer is unaware of the name of the US counterpart vehicle. I realize that in the case of certain parts there may be a big difference, but usually not so with weatherstripping.

I end up taking many of these calls, as the other CSR's are admittedly not familiar at all with Canadian models. The only reason I'm even vaguely familiar myself is I grew up along the border, and spent lots of time in Canada when I was young, and remember some of these cars --from the 60's especially.

EX. The Pontiac Catalina had a cousin in Canada, slightly narrower and shorter than its US counterpart, called a Laurentian. Weatherstripping was essentially the same. Other names I can recall are Cadet, Acadian, and Parisienne(LONG before Pontiac USA started using it)

Would anyone, especially my Canadian Friends, have any charts or online resources that they can refer me to, so I can prepare a list of US car names that match up with their Canadian Counterpart? I'd like to do all of the big 3, but GM would be a great start.

Bob Helt? Dave Newell? Joel&Co in the West? Stan and Co in the East? Buehler?
Anybody?

TIA

Hank
