Hello all,

Well it stopped raining long enough for me to start this project. I
managed to get the top half of the engine all disconnected, hopefully.
The bottom remains to be done. It;s taking longer than it should
because I removed the turbo asm, generator etc because I wanted to take
the turkey roaster off to look for leaks, clean it out (had an oil spill
last year.(two even, but that's another story)) so needed to clean
things up. Did take the left and right lower shrouds off and the good
news is the push rod tubes seem to be high and dry. One less thing to do.

Ok I have a few questions b/4 continuing with this. First, What is the
best way to remove rear transverse leaf spring as Clarks calls it?
Looks pretty hefty..?

Next, When jacking the car up, how high is high enough? (remember turbo
and alternator are off the engine) What's the best/safest way to get
this thing up high enough? I have a smallish floor jack. Where is the
right place to put the jack? Where should the jack stands go? Is there
a measurement from the bottom of the engine to the ground to use as a guide?

Lastly, the manual says to drain the transmission. I couldn't find the
plug?? I have to remove the back-up light switch, does the transmission
share oil with the differential or do I need to drain that too..???

Sorry for all the questions but at the moment I am both tired AND a
little overwhelmed.

Oh what's a good product to use to remove oil/grease that won't damage
painted surfaces...

Ok that's all for now....
