I am needing to tow a corvair stationwagon from Smithtown New York to Jacksonville Fla. I have use of a tow dolly where you put two wheels on the dolly and two wheels on the road. The stationwagon is a manual three speed. Is it best to tow the car forward or backward? I plan to try to go there and back with least amount of wasted time. I have a dakota v8 pu with plenty of towing power but no sleeping room, or I have a 1986 vw camper with 90hp and good trailer hitch, with sleeping room to pull into a rest area if get to tired. I also get 20mpg with vw and 15mpg with pu. Any advice would be apprieciated. Thanks, Don.
