We have all had our DOH! moments with Corvairs.
Mine was during the reassembly of an engine. I was at the point where the 
fan belt was the next item to install. As I was doing this I noticed I had 
not installed the fan! All the sheet metal was there and I did install the 
fan pulley for some reason but did not notice the fan itself was not there. 
It was one of those moments when I just dropped the tools, turned out the 
lights and went upstairs for a cold beer....or two!
