<VV> Carbon monoxide detector

Am I being foolish.  I got ceiling mount ones (about $20 each at 
Lowe's), and have 2 in the basement (near the furnace), 1 upstairs, 1 in 
each corvair).  I presumed the ceiling mount ones will work under the seat.

Oh yea, and 1 in the garage (fire extinguishers on each wall).
