Yep, the nut should be as good as the bolt ......   also, a point to
remember ... one of the goals of torqueing the bolt is not just to keep the
bolt stretched so it doesnt just jiggle out of the nut or threaded hole
...but the torque of the assembly also serves to keep the parts of the
assembly ( plate and chassis sheet metal and front suspension cross bar )
....     forced together to keep them from walking around.   ...  friction
is your friend ...

........ further trivia.... NEVER use a lock nut more than twice, and better
yet no more than once.  unless of course you like to spectate a lot ...
