Well, that would take us back to about 1971. I was smitten by the sight of
a red '66 convertible on a lot in Redondo Beach, CA. I went back with my
Dad to check it out the next day. It was a Red/Black '66 Corsa 140 convert,
pretty much stock with 42k and a bad clutch. We got them to knock the price
down $50 ($499 became $450). It had this funny little badge on the back
that I didn't really understand. It read S P R I N T. It wasn't until I
went to my first club meeting and watched the reactions. Koni shocks:
Check. Aeon rubber springs: check. Steering damper: check. Flame
throwers: check. Flash to pass: check. Trombones, individual air cleaners,
revised throttle linkage, black painted cove, rockers& headlight trim: It
was all there. It wasn't until later that I realized what I really had.
