Thanks for the information. I was just not twisting the knob hard enough. I grabbed the stem with a small (really small) pair of channel locks and the knob with another small pair of channel locks. Gave it a little twist and it came right off.

Now part deux: I need the little pan (tray) the clock sits in on a padded dash. If anyone has this part and wants to contribute it (okay, I know you guys - SELL it), please send me an email.
