Travis makes a great point -- shop or garage. Well, at least a place to
work and a place to store. They really need to be two separate entities,
as if you start storing in your work space, kiss the work space
good-bye, 'cause you'll be back outside on the ground fixing things.

Need to remember though, that some outfits, like Haggerty insurance,
require lockable, secure inside storage for insured vehicles, so a
carport or extra large "eaves" outside the building don't count, but
they are a good idea -- you never have enough room. Mine's a 36' x 48'
"pole" building (typical pacific northwest barn) with a wall down the
middle (with a 16' roll-up door in it) to separate storage from shop,
and footings poured in the floor for a twin post hoist (future). It's
not big enough, even with a 12' (x36') shed on one end and an open 24' x
24' (or so) livestock housing area on the other. Wish it was bigger (but
very happy to finally have a "shop").

Now comes the question, is it a wood working shop, or a mechanics
garage? Oh! You need three, shop, garage, AND storage (plus a livestock
barn & hay shed, too)? darn -- I didn't plan that one quite right ...
