<VV> Cannot shift into fourth gear

I recently had a similar problem with my '65.  After sitting for some time
(I do not wish to admit how long), everything worked great, but I could not
get it into all gears.  It turned out that the linkage shaft had rusted just
a little on the short section that sticks out past the tunnel.  The bronze
bushings I had installed were operating with such a tight clearance that the
rusted section would bind when it hit the bushing, keeping the transmission
from engaging two of the four gears.  Once I found the problem, a little
emory cloth and some grease had things sliding around perfect.  Give that a
look, especially if you also are having a little trouble getting into first
as well...
