Seth and All

I agree with what Seth has said here.

WHY is the question I have

WHY would a local chapter member PRIDE themselves on NOT being a CORSA member?

After 20 years in the Corvair hobby, the "IM A CHEAPO" line is more than tired.

Frankly, I believe the National By-Laws should be revised to REQUIRE CORSA membership of every member in a CORSA Chapter. If that means numbers decrease, then so be it. Keep your 10,000.00 fully restored Corvair and your too cheap to pay CORSA dues ass at home. Not paying CORSA dues is a detriment to the Chapters trying to put on events that the Cheapo wants to come to.

In too many cases these "Cheapos" are the same people who have no compunction about dumping 500.00 into a slot machine, when they know that the only thing in the casino where you have even a possibility of beating the house is Black Jack. Just don't figure.

CORSA has TOO LONG placated the chapters who don't require CORSA membership to be a member of a Chapter.

That would be like Joining a Boy Scout Troop, but refusing to fill out the application that goes to the National office. It's redundant and ridiculous and has been tolerated way too long.

The "Graying of the membership" is going to weed out the Cheapos anyway by onset of age, loss of vision to drive, and the eventual dirt nap. So IMO CORSA should revise the bylaws, break the news to the chapters, and let the chips fall where they may.

Just my .02 I'm not arguing with anyone so if you want to flame me, do it off the list---I won't read them anyway.

Hank
