<VV> run on

"...when I turn the ignition off the motor keeps on running. How can I
rectify this?..."
Make sure the idle speed is at stock specification (or as near as you can
get it); too high an idle speed is a major contributor to run on after the
ignition is shut off. Another issue might be carbon build up in the combustion
chamber, but start with the idle speed.

(I'm going to make an assumption you don't already know all this... excuse
if you do.) Before adjusting the idle, best to be sure the carbs are balanced
side-to-side. For carb balancing: follow the shop manual to understand how to
isolate, linkage-wise, one carb from the other while using a Unisyn or other
air flow instrument for real-time balancing. Once balanced, and you are sure
both carbs linkages are resting on their idle stop screws, the final idle
can be adjusted. If the idle is too high, turn each screw out an EQUAL amount,
a little at a time (I use 1/4 turn, each side, stop & check, and so forth),
until the idle speed drops to the desired RPM. Re-check balance, with Unisyn,
both at idle and part throttle.

That's my 2-cents; I'm sure others have their opinion and will voice it.
