Yup, pinging was considerable at 16 degrees.  At 8 degrees I'm not
detecting any clear ping.  Idle and off the line acceleration are
noticeably better at 8 than when at 4 degrees so I'll stick with that for
now.

That's what I read - the distributor code is referenced in the shop  
manual.  You might wish to try a little less to start, most 140s will  
ping at 18.
