i have used several of the clarks units over the years with no  troubles.
you must make sure the rod  it moves is free and clean. i always pull  it and 
check it out.
the modulator for the big car powerglide looks similar but has a different  
size plunger...it will screw in but wont work as i remember...been a long  time.
napa  sold an adjustable one for many years , but i never found it to  work 
as well as the correct replacement.
