Just for sake of interest, the word is that the Volt will be priced at
around $40k, unless GM gets a government rebate of (up to) $7k approved.
And the Volt is supposed to compete with the Prius??

regard to the Chevy Volt he says; "a lot of folks seem mighty uncomfortable
 when
GM tries [to innovate and experiment]" adding, "understandably, perhaps,
given past fiascos like the Corvair, Vega, and Olds diesel."

Of course, If the Volt shows up on time and performs to the specs, Motor
Trend will probably make it the "Car of the Year" for 2010, like the Corvair was
in 1960! And then, in 2060, the new editor can diss another new car as
another one of GM's fiascos - like the Volt! What a bunch of hypocrites at Motor
Trend! - Seth
