Welcome to V V and Corvairs in General! If you'll do Web Searches for
those terms it will turn up 100's!

Recently at the International Convention we had 2- 5 speed cars, one
driven from Seattle and both ran at the Willow Springs Raceway track event...both
driven home! The cars have had the weak parts reworked for longevity...

Big Bore? are you talking oversized pistons 0.060"? or the use of VW /
Mahle 94 mm cyll.-pistons??

There are most likely several dozen cars out there like that... most street
driven as most SCCA classes only allow small overbores... on the street
anything goes...

Webers? Clarks sells the 2 bbl. Weber Stromberg kits.....and 3 bbls are
available numerous places.....and most performance run the triples... 32-34
mm chokes work best on the street..

come to the Corvair Olympics in Indy at the end of this month and you'll
see them all, as well as see them run..drags, Autocross / Road course

Has anyone ever built a big bore engine with webers? I'm thinking about
building an engine for my Corsa, something streetable but with that geewiz
factor. I've always been enamored with the weber set up but also the big
bore stuff. Is this a possible set up? Any other thoughts on this engine
combo?

Also anybody ever dealt with the 5 speed transmission that's out for these
cars based off the borg warner trans? Ive heard about issues with it, just
wondering, seems like it could be a good change if the ratios were right.
