The problem/issue with the late model Corvair is that the body line drops
down just before the rear cutoff and the rear area is concave, as well as
narrowing in the middle. On the Camaro, the line extends to the rear panel, which
is flat across. I see the Camaro tail as a simpler and less elegant design -
thank you GM styling! But it means the camaro mis-matches in two planes -
horizontal, where it isn't steep enough for the Corvair and longitudinal, where
the ends do not "bend back" to match the rear cove of the Corvair. If you
look at it from a practical point, GM, when adding the optional 67-69 Camaro
Rear Spoiler, just copied the Yenko Stinger, except for the "Plain" rear end of
the Camaro. As far as adding a wing design to the rear of the Corvair, the
only place the Corvair could use it is on the roof! (and not at the back of
the roof.) Unless you have the front end of the Corvair glued down to the road,
you don't want to induce and more rear traction. Of course, you can bolt on
a "Rice wing" see _www.riceboypage.com_ (http://www.riceboypage.com) for
examples - mostly bad examples! - Seth Emerson
