Good morning, I've been through this before on GM stuff. In my old GMC truck manual, it calls on the fluid for top up as axle oil, for a fresh fill OO or OOO semi-fluid grease. It is available from most tractor dealerships, price is like a quart of diff oil. I think it was OO. Michael
