<VV> Valve seats

I have to say, when I built my 140 in 1986, I sent the heads to Bob
Coffin and had him replace all the seats. Yes, it was expensive, but
worth it. Of course, I spent lots of time de-flashing them and run a
Mazda external oil cooler. The engine has, probably over 60,000 miles
on it since then. It has been autocrossed with a 6,600 rpm chip in the
MSD, gotten 50 mpg in economy runs, made the fastest runs at VIR in
2002 of any car that was driven in, run up and down the interstate with
the AC on, lugged around town, and everything else. I have replaced the
clutch, but the engine has never been back apart. No ticks, no knocks,
no problems.

Like most things in life, when you build a Corvair engine, "ya pays yer
money and ya makes yer choices."
