If you tow a convert backwards you also need to worry about the windshield (front glass) being pushed out if the top is down.  After many years the glass may not be adhered to the glue in the channel.
Also when you tow backwards the wheel alignment is not set up for this direction and you will get sway!  (Very bad for safety)
Best to trailer if at all possible.  I have tow dollied and would not do again if at all possible.

ANY convert is actually open on the sides of the convert backlite. Wind
currents, even behind a HUGE motorhome, will be enough to balloon out the
top and cause untold damage to the top material. If you HAVE to tow a
convert backwards behind anything, put the top down. Otherwise only tow it
forwards.
