I had a similar occurrence on the track with Yenko Stinger #73.  Turns out, 
the cam, most pistons, most cylinders at least chipped (probably usable with 
a bit of filing), some ruined. Only the one chamber in the right head was 
damaged. A lifter was broken in half. Crank ruined. Block had a hole plus 
broke the web between pan and crank area. Cam looked to be ok, but turned 
out it was damaged and later wore a nearby  lobe.  Half the rods were 
damaged. So, suggest you really  look at everything, and err on the safe 
side.

I think you could install used parts: Cam, Crank ( try to polish rather than 
turn it, if you can), used rods, used push rods, rockers, lifters if matched 
to the cam. New pistons and rings. Bearings unless you have some really good 
used ones.

You could rebuild a junk engine...er.... spare engine.. ;>)))   Or buy a 
good running used engine.
