David asked:
Besides a carb problem or a vacuum leak, is there anything else that can
cause rough running/occasional backfire on deceleration?
David

Craig replies:
Backfiring (ka-pow noise in the exhaust) on decel is almost always due to a
leak in the exhaust. AIR (smog) equipped cars can also have a failure in
one of the check valves or diverter valve, which will cause a backfire.
