cranking  voltage is around 10 volts with at least of 9.6. 12 volts is at 
rest, the  I terminal on the solinoid supplys the voltage during the  crank 
cycle....its purpose is to bypass the resistor wire,  
Use a voltmeter on the + term of the coil and crank, with the engine  
running,it  will be around 3 volts less
