We are already doing plenty by keeping our 40+ year old cars going instead of buying new ones. If you still feel bad throw the bad switch in the recycled metal bin instead of the trash. Never compromise on a safety item.

George, disposing of the switch won't really have an impact on the 'fragile' 
earth. I think your rant on saving the earth should be moved to TALK.
