Smitty says: This thread is typical on VV where we have so many different people with different agendas and desires for their Corvairs. Scotty and his group hate my fan because it is heavy and inefficient over 4,000 rpm. I am all for the group to come up with a fan that moves large quantities of air at 8,000 rpm and only takes 1.7 hp to drive it. I wouldn't buy one though if it were offered to me for $1 over the cost of a used mag fan from Clarks. I have no need for it. When I am cranking down the road at 4,000 rpm I don't care how much the fan weighs or how much inertia it has. PowerGlides don't speed shift when they are right, even down shifting. The other guys want to speed shift up and down and keep their engines cool at ultra speeds. I hope they can do it for themselves. But to badmouth the original because its performance was governed by bean counters is to get out of context. It does a fine job when used as designed.
