For the purpose  of this discussion: one valve train remaining somewhat 
"ticky," when all others  are quiet at the same adjustment point, it matters not if 
the adjustment was  made hot or cold. The lifter plunger--no matter hot or 
cold adjustment--is  somewhere in its working range; like its quietly-working, 
identically  adjusted counterparts, the noisy, single valve train should not be 
noisy  when adjusted like all the others. If it is noisy, there is  something 
peculiar to the components of that one valve train (i.e.: one  of, or the 
combination of ingredients already  discussed).
