<VV> no P-G

For the Corvair, the lack of park was due to several reasons, as far as
I can tell.
1. The linkage would have to be a LOT more robust to make a Park pawl
work.
2. The transaxle would've gained appreciable length to accomodate a
park mechanism.
3. Cost!

School buses and truck autos often don't have a park because on
something that heavy, inadvertant engagement would be FAR more
destructive than in a car. Not to mention the amount of beef needed to
maintain and/or disengage Park when on an incline with a full load!

I do not think that linkage is the possible reason there is no Park in
our
cars. The Ford and International school buses do not have a park.
