Hi Mark,

Your ' and " looked fine to me.

I'm no computer expert, but I think all they have to do is check their 
settings.

In OE (Outlook Express) the same in the full Outlook version? (don't 
now)  - go to TOOLS - then Options - then Send.

Under "International" mine is set for Western European(ISO).

Also look to see that the two "radio buttons" below are set to Plain Text 
(not HTML).

Look at Plain Text Settings and have the MIME radio button turned on and see 
that the Encode is set to NONE.

On that page - you can also set your word wrap so that things don't go off 
the right edge of the screen.  Mine is set at 76 with "Indent" checked and 
the ">" key as the indent symbol.

I would imagine that other email programs have somewhat similar settings 
available, but I would not know how to find them.
