<VV> DIY Crash course media blasting

DIY isn't practical -- have it done. It's an issue with expensive
equipment, a skills issue, and an issue of where to do it.

I had both the undercarriage and the topside done. The undercarriage
was done while I had the car on the rotisserie. After doing the needed
rust repair, I left the car on the rotisserie and had it hauled to the
media blaster on a rollback. The blasting company used steel shot on
the undercarriage and plastic on the inside of the trunk and the engine
compartment. The topside was done by the painter (he had it done) with
plastic media.

If you decide to have it done, make SURE the person/company doing it
knows what they're doing. I recently saw a Boss Mustang shell that was
warped beyond repair by improper blasting.

I feel like media blasting, like my whole car, after I strip her of
mechanicals and trim, etc.

Anyone feel like throwing out some tips, like equipment, air compressor
strength, media, amount of pressure required, clean up, post blasting
rust protection, excreta.

I can't stand red anymore, this lm convertible should be blue like it
was when new.
