<VV> Edie Adams, dead at 81

Recently we veered off topic to discuss Edie Adams, Corvair-era chanteuse  
and sexy pitch woman for Muriel cigars.  Her name came up because she was  the 
widow of comedian, Ernie Kovacs who died in a car crash when he wrapped his  
Corvair station wagon around a telephone pole.  Today's New York Times  reports 
that she died Wednesday of pneumonia and cancer.  The obituary  mentioned 
Ernie Kovacs' fatal car crash but, thankfully, neglected to mention  the marque of 
the car.  Also mentioned in the write up was Ms. Adams'  performance of the 
song, "That's All" on the final episode of "The Lucy-Desi  Comedy Hour" in 
April 1960.  The song is a bitter-sweet melody made all the  more so in this 
rendition given that the show represented the swan song in  the still iconic 
television comedy team of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz and the  fact that the couple 
was, at the time, going through a bitter divorce.   Watch it on YouTube and 
just try not to get misty-eyed.
