Convention off season?
Now you tell us!
We could have gotten a heck of a rate at the Marriott if we had the Buffalo 
convention during the winter months!
And they said snow and road salt would be an issue.

And as for a convention being "child friendly"or "family friendly". I 
remember bringing my kids to conventions and having to pay full price for 
banquet dinners. I asked many times why there was never a childrens price.
Finally figured out, it was to "discourage" attendance by kids.
