Charlie,
The vacuum advance hooks up to "ported" vacuum on the RH carb.(above the throttle plate-vertical connection). The lower horizontal connection (manifold vacuum-below the throttle plate) hooks up to the choke pulloff diaphragm. All this information can be found in the shop manuals. I hope this helps.
