<VV> plug thread inserts

I always assumed all Helicoil products were the coiled-wire style, but this spark plug insert IS a solid insert, not the usual Helicoil construction.

Glad it worked out.

All the "Helicoil" type inserts have the same threads per inch, as
they
have the same threads per inch on their outer surface as the inner
surface the spark plug screws into. This is because the inside is the
same wire as the outside.

The solid style insets, like KD, can have any outside thread per inch
specs the manufacturer wants, as the inside and outside are removed from
each other by the solid wall. The inside TPI must still match a 14mm
spark plug thread.

I like the K-D style as the hole does not need anymore enlarging (no
drilling) and can be done on the side of the road. Just grease the tap.
The leftover aluminum chips seem to blow out the exhaust on startup.

Using the same style insert was the best way to go.

The idea of a shop vac blowing is great for shop installed inserts. I'll
file this idea away for later.
