<VV> Removing Powerglide pump cover

Sometimes if you don't have slide hammers you can get lucky and use two
crow bars or big screw drivers. Remove all the outer screws and inner
screws. Put a flat washer under the head of a couple inner screws and
loosely screw back into the thread leaving some gap under the washers.
Rest the crowbar on the pan rail of the case and pry up under the
washers on the inner screws. If the seal isn't baked in from years of
corrosion you should be able to start the outer cover moving. When it
moves and the seal (a big square O-ring) finally clears the case, remove
the two inner screws and let the pump stay inside. Remove the outer
cover and follow the service manual. If you don't get enough leverage
that way, reinstall one or two outer screws part way and rest the
crowbar on the outer screw head while prying up on the inner screw. The
only thing holding it in is dirt or corrosion from the seal to the
outside.
