I'd have to disagree on the Pacer. It was no more of a "bad car" than any
other AMC car. It (like the Gremlin) simply looked odd. Even if styling was
the only criteria, there are far worse looking cars than the Pacer (which
IMHO wasn't bad in "wagon" form).

What's conspicuously missing are all the early (first ones imported into
the US in the '50's and '60's) Japaneese cars, like the Toyopet. Now THOSE
were some really horrible cars!
