Smitty says, Andy I'm willing to bet you are experiencing loss of oil pressure. As for the light the new oil switch means nothing. I have gone through a half dozen of them in succesion from NAPA. Some slow to return to zero and some that never returned to zero. I'm a firm believer in warning lights (as long as they are working right). So when I shut the key off I wait till the engine has died and then turn the key back on. If the red light isn't there in a couple of seconds, the switch goes back. your condition should be diagnosed with a gage.
